A Pulpeira de Melide, Coruña

A Pulpeira de Melide is a family restaurant which was recently taken over by son Gorka Rodríguez. He kept the place’s main attractive -boiled octopus, potato omelette- while adding simple and modern dishes to the menu. The octopus is always very good, the boiled potatoes delicious and the tortilla (potato omelette) juicy and runny Betanzos’ style, but have a look at the menu on the wall and try some seafood like the mussels in spicy peppers sauce or the raw oysters with hot sauce. These items change daily so just go and experiment!

The place gets crowded quickly and all day long, and doesn’t accept reservations, the good news is that the turnover is quite fast so just go tell the waiter you’d like a table and you’ll be seated quickly. Prices are fair -last time we were there, beer + octopus + potatoes + tortilla + mussels was 32€ for the 3 of us.
